The Ice led the WHL standings all season, compiling a 57-10-1 record, good for 115 points, while Seattle was next with 111, Kamloops third with 103. In the playoffs, Winnipeg is 12-2, defeating Medicine Hat, Moose Jaw and Saskatoon, sweeping Rounds 1 and 3. Off the ice, things haven’t gone as smoothly. Rumours of the Ice relocating have swirled throughout the WHL this season, based on management’s inability to come through with a new arena it promised when moving from Cranbrook, B.C., to Winnipeg, four years ago.
