Campus Capital co-founder joins Martin SFP Bryant’s twice-weekly publication shining light on UK’s most promising tech startups Share: PreSeed Now, a twice-weekly publication shining a light on some of the UK’s most promising tech startups, has named Samantha Deakin as its head of growth. Launched in May 2022 by journalist Martin SFP Bryant, PreSeed Now has profiled more than 80 startups from across the country. Targeted at investors and others in the early-stage tech sector, the newsletter focuses on B2B and deep-tech companies, documenting their beginnings as their technologies and businesses take shape. Deakin previously co-founded Campus Capital, a venture capital firm with teams of student VCs based across the UK, and is currently employed on a South Yorkshire-based tech ecosystem development project by Capital Enterprise, a non-profit organisation. At PreSeed Now, she will be focused on growing the newsletter’s subscriptions, partnerships, and business opportunities. The publication will announce its first sponsorship deal soon and will be unveiling new benefits for paying subscribers in the coming weeks. Deakin said: “I’ve spent a lot of the last decade working with a view from both sides of the investor table, so I saw the value in PreSeed Now as soon as it launched. “Martin has already built an impressive archive of top-quality content and a loyal community of engaged subscribers. I’m looking forward to working with him on growing the company to its full potential.” Manchester-based Bryant, who has been writing about tech startups around the world since 2009, said: “Samantha is deeply connected with the early-stage tech world and I leapt at the opportunity to work with her to grow PreSeed Now as a business.”
