Martinez Named Director of Colorado Broadband Office

Colorado's IT department has tapped Anthony Sean Martinez, who most recently served as a director in the U.S. Department of State, as the second-ever executive director of the state's Broadband Office. Colorado Office of Information Technology The Governor's Office of Information Technology has selected Anthony Sean Martinez as the next executive director of the Colorado Broadband Office (CBO). Martinez replaces Anthony Neal-Graves, who now  serves as Colorado's CIO. Neal-Graves started leading CBO back in 2017. Martinez comes to the role with 32 years of experience working in federal government positions. He has been a director in the U.S. Department of State, deputy director of the U.S. Department of Energy and an adviser to the chief operations officer for the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Martinez was also a lieutenant colonel with the Air Force. He is a combat veteran who has been stationed in Afghanistan, Iraq and North Africa. According to a press release, Martinez will coordinate with the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade, Department of Local Affairs, Department of Regulatory Agencies and other state agencies as he leads the state's broadband efforts. In the release, Neal-Graves said the state is proud of CBO's work on the ground to "help bring reliable high-speed broadband to every community across the state." "Broadband is an enabler of economic growth for our rural communities and is a vital tool for telehealth and remote education," Neal-Graves said. "I am pleased to have someone of Antonio’s caliber to lead these efforts.”
