Bob Davidson, 69, is hard at work clearing up the mess after two cars smashed into his daughter’s home on Reddish Lane in Gorton. Bob says his daughter who owns the home but currently lives in Bacup and has been renting it out the home for the past few years was devastated to hear about the crash as as she had plans to put the house on the market. Luckily, there was nobody living at the home during the incident and Bob says if it wasn’t for the cherry blossom tree in the front garden, both cars would have driven straight through the home. She’s one of them people that starts spewing when she's really upset. “But I said the thing you’ve got to be thankful for was that there was no kid playing, or a woman with a pram. “Nobody was hurt apart from the two drivers, one of them was very apologetic when it happened and said they’d sort it all out." Read More Police and firefighters rushed to the scene just after 6.45pm yesterday evening (April 16). Reddish Lane was closed between Debdale Lane and Turnbull Road in Gorton and safety checks were carried out on the house. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “Just after 6:45pm this evening (Saturday 16 April) we were called to attend a road traffic collision involving two vehicles that had gone into a house on Reddish Lane, Manchester. “Two fire engines from Gorton fire station were quickly at the scene. The drivers of the vehicles were assessed by firefighters, who carried out safety checks of the property and area before departing after around an hour in attendance.” Read More
