By FinSMEs RetAPPs , a Brescia, Italy-based provider of mobile solutions for retailers, raised €350k in funding. Backers included Andena Holding (11%), Bincot srl (11%), and Vela Imprese (3%). According to reports, these stakes, which now total 24%, will increase to 40% in 2014. Founded in 2012 by in the Superpartes Innovation Campus in Brescia, Italy, which mantained the remaining shareholding along with CEO Alessandro Tiretta, RetAPPs specializes in solutions for transitioning retailers and consumers towards Mobile Shopping or Smart Commerce. It provides a Mobile Self Scanning application for smartphone that allows users to scan product codes, fill in their virtual basket, and move to checkout. The solution has been installed in 25 large stores in Italy and is regularly used by more than 20.000 consumers. FinSMEs
