16 January 2023 Ed Tech and Educational Services Private equity firm Aurica Capital has acquired a 30% stake in online training business Euroinnova via a capital increase. The company’s founders retained the remaining 70% stake in the business. Following the deal, Euroinnova will become part of a new company, Educa Edtech Group, which has been established by Aurica to boost investment in the digital learning space. In addition to Euroinnova, Educa Edtech also includes other educational and digital learning businesses. The company will be led by chairman Fran Moreno, who is the co-founder of Euroinnova. This is the second deal made by Aurica through its Aurica IV fund, which has recently held a first close on more than €200 million. Established in 2005, Euroinnova has offices in Spain, the Netherlands and the US and a digital presence in 22 countries, providing education and training to more than 10,000 international students. Martín Vargas, investment director of Aurica, said: “Euroinnova has great growth potential and we believe that our support will allow the company to reach its next stage of development, leading Educa EdTech Group”.
