Apple Acknowledges Overheating Issue in iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max Models Due to iOS 17 Bug Home » Technology » Apple Acknowledges Overheating Issue in iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max Models Due to iOS 17 Bug byarchywordys No Comments Apple has acknowledged an overheating problem in its new iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models. Although it was initially attributed to internal design issues, the company has now identified multiple factors behind this issue, including bugs in iOS 17. The Cupertino company has confirmed that the titanium frame and aluminum body of the iPhone 15 Pro are not the cause of the problem, as they dissipate heat efficiently. Instead, “a bug has been detected in iOS 17 that is affecting some users and will be resolved in a software update,” according to the company. Additionally, initial overheating may be due to increased background activity during the first few days after setting up or resetting the device. The issue is related to updates from third-party apps, such as Instagram, Asphalt 9, and Uber, which overload the A17 Pro chip’s CPU, causing it to overheat. Apple is working collaboratively with the developers of these applications to resolve this issue. You may be interested: Not only are they overheating, users report swollen batteries in the iPhone 15 Pro For users experiencing overheating issues on their iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max, Apple recommends turning on Low Power Mode from the Control Center or in the Battery section of the Settings app. This will kill background tasks, temporarily limit the screen refresh rate to 60Hz, and reduce brightness. It is also advisable to disable background refresh for specific apps from the “General” section in iPhone settings. Importantly, this overheating issue is not related to hardware failures, such as the battery or processor, but rather to iOS 17’s improper handling of background app updates. Both Apple and the developers of Apps are working on solutions to ensure users enjoy a smooth experience on their iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max devices. In short, Apple has recognized and is actively addressing the overheating issue in its latest iPhone models. The company has identified the cause as a bug in iOS 17 that affects the management of third-party app updates in the background. Software updates and collaboration with app developers are expected to resolve this issue and provide users with a more satisfying experience with their devices. Imagen: Apple
