The CORE team is thrilled to announce the second class for Almaworks ( www.alma.works ), Columbia University’s startup accelerator for NYC student entrepreneurs. The Almaworks program consists of eight sessions held at the Columbia Startup Lab, it takes no equity, and it aims to help early-stage startups achieve significant, sustainable growth through the help of our mentors, who collectively have expertise in startup growth, product, legal, and funding. They have founded startups such as Genius, One Month, and Virgin Mobile USA and grown organizations like Fundera, HUGE, and Vimeo. The Almaworks companies will present at Demo Day and IPO (Intercollegiate Pitch Off, http://www.intercollegiate.co ) later this Spring. Cuttime Cuttime is a marketing intelligence platform that provides audience profiling and partnership recommendations to brands and recording artists. Froth Froth is an application-based drinks subscription service, through which members can redeem 5 first round drinks at partner bars for $10 a month. MyJAMS MyJAMS connects musicians with live performance opportunities at local bars and restaurants. Musicians have a need for performance opportunities, and bars hope to host live music to increase marketing and sales. InsureU InsureU will make it easy for students, freelancers, and business owners to find a health insurance plan by using simple user inputs to estimate medical costs. Parsegon
