11/10/2021 Photo Courtesy: Alaris An investment consortium has announced it plans to acquire JSE-listed Alaris for USD 11mn (ZAR 161mn)—a cash consideration of ZAR 4.20 per shares. The consortium comprising Tadvest, CRH Investments, Conexus Capital Group Fund Trust, Brazen Force Investments, Nguni Investments and Chauke Investments believe there is limited benefit for the radio frequency (RF) technology company to be listed on the JSE. This includes both the costs associated with the listing and insufficient institutional investor support that would justify the limitations imposed on listed companies. Furthermore, a lack of liquidity in the company’s shares impede its ability to raise capital in the market. The consortium’s view is that delisting the company will allow for Alaris to reposition and focus on global expansion. This year, it acquired a UK designer and manufacturer of custom RF & microwave products, Linwave, for GBP 3mn. Alaris Holdings invests in RF-related technology companies and has been listed on the JSE AltX since July 2008. TAGS
