After six successful years in the role, Adelaide-born David Minear has just stepped down as Chairman of the highly-acclaimed Adelaide Fringe, Australia’s largest arts festival and the second biggest Fringe in the world after Edinburgh in Scotland. Currently he is a Director of the Ahrens Group of companies, a national multi-faceted engineering, design and construction business, and a Director of BAD., a creative brand engagement and advertising resource. David also has considerable experience in the areas of advertising and marketing. In a 26-year career with international advertising agency group Young & Rubicam, he held senior creative and management positions internationally and in Australia. These included National Creative Director, Vice Chairman Australasia, Creative Director and Managing Director Y&R Adelaide and Group Chief Executive of Y&R Melbourne. David currently runs an independent Australian recording label, Bombora. He also operates a boutique advertising consultancy and entertainment development company under the same name. Over the last 15 years, he has held various other Board positions including Chairman of The South Australian Film Corporation, Chairman of the Melbourne Tigers Basketball Club, Chairman of the Roger Rasheed Sports Foundation and a Board Member of the South Australian Tourism Commission, the Adelaide Convention Centre and Kojo.
