Recently, Ms. Stowers made headlines for speaking out about the racism she experienced on Vanderpump Rules. Since then, she has been strategically planning her next move. "I wanted to amplify the story of a black creative who came from nothing and built a fashion empire." She said. MORE FOR YOU Martez is a black Chicago inner-city streets entrepreneur who saw an opportunity to rise above all of his challenges and become something no one ever could have predicted - a fashion designer. This journey took him from Chicago's deadly streets to a brick and mortar store owner in Los Angeles's most highly coveted real estate zone for fashion, Melrose Ave. Ms. Stowers is proud to bring YEKIM to the small screen through a reality show concept based on his store's inner-workings. "I became motivated and excited about getting behind the camera," Ms. Stowers said. "It's been rewarding to bring more authentication and awareness to issues that are happening in the world." "I met Martez years ago. I saw a black man that came from a place where you don't normally make it out of," Ms. Stowers revealed. "He took life into his own hands, and against all odds, he beat a system designed to oppress him. Then while supporting black businesses in our culture, he became collateral damage when during the black lives matter protest, his hard-earned store was vandalized. Everything in the store was stolen, and years of his hard work - gone. I saw a fighter like myself, and I became motivated. Martez rose above it all, as did I. As I step into my new role as creative director, I plan to help keep Martez at the top and surround the brand with winners like Maria Menounos and Keven Undergaro." Cast members who will also be on the show include familiar faces on Love & Hip Hop, Ex on the Beach, The Challenge, WEtv, and other fashion industry names. Law Roach will also be starring as a fashion pioneer reshaping YEKIM's style and brand identity. A Mother Advocating for Diversity and Change Faith Stowers, and her son Faith Stowers Ms. Stowers opened up about how raising a black child is something she takes seriously and wants to create a better world for her son. "I was blessed to have my firstborn son this year," Stowers said. "Although he is biracial, he is also black. And with that comes trials tribulations I want him to understand. I never want what happened to me to continue to happen to other people, including my son. We see the tragic events that happened to George Floyd and what happens when justice isn't provided . The fact that I could have been another hashtag from false racially driven accusations no longer frightens me but pushes me to help others." Ms. Stowers expressed an interest in working with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and his 'Say Their Name' Reform Agenda package . The package aims to address the pattern of police brutality against minority communities across the nation and prohibit Race-Based 911 calls. "We are in such a particular time where diversity is not only celebrated , it's championed, and raising a black son in 2020, now means something else than it once did," she stated. "Diversity is the future, and the end is here, which is exciting. And as a businesswoman, I created this opportunity during Covid, showing my son the power of adapting and perseverance even in the most trying times." Ms. Stowers's determination to create opportunities for others and her commitment to address racial disparity, both in society and business, is evident.
