XMILE LEARNING: Florian贸polis, Brazil-based Xmile Learning raised $650K from three undisclosed angel investors in the UK andBrazil to support the launch of its e-learning platform designed toserve Brazilian elementary school children. Xmile will offer narrativegames based on curriculum aligned with Brazil's Ministry of Education,woven into a Learning Management System. Students take part in adventure games and learn by helping the games' protagonists solve theirproblems. The company, which started in January, released its prototype in March. CEO Nicolas Peluffo says Xmile is building games for grades 1through 3 focusing on Portuguese language, math, social sciences andnatural sciences. Trials are scheduled to begin in August, with the goal of launching commercially in January 2014.
