The Winnipeg Police Credit Union announced they are donating their winnings back to the Children’s Hospital Foundation. “Congratulations and kudos to Cal Berzuk and the Winnipeg Police Credit Union for their outstanding gesture of donating their share of the raffle total to the CHFM,” said Sabourin in a press release. “The $92,565 is much needed by the CHFM as the COVID-19 pandemic negatively affected their usual fundraising initiatives.” Sabourin said the WPA teamed up with and went to work acquiring a raffle licence, developing a marketing plan and enlisting the help of Brody Jackson from QX 104 FM as the celebrity spokesperson for the campaign. “We are so very grateful to everyone who helped promote the 50/50 and the folks who purchased tickets,” said Sabourin. Next year, the 96th annual WPA Charity Ball will take place Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Canad Inns Polo Park. It is the longest running annual charity function of its kind in North America.
