Image: Wiggleywoo Deal represents major coup for Irish firms Monster Entertainment and Wiggleywoo and a boost for the digital and animation industry in Ireland. Nickelodeon has acquired the international broadcast rights to seasons 3 and 4 of the Irish-produced preschool series ‘The Day Henry Met’. It has also renewed rights to seasons 1 and 2 from the show’s distributors. The deal brings the Irish show to an audience of 1.1bn subscribers in more than 170 countries. The Day Henry Met is produced by Dublin-based Wiggleywoo Ltd and distributed by Monster Entertainment . The series won the prestigious Pulcinella Award for Best European Work in 2015. In 2017 the series won Best Animation at the Irish Animation Awards. Positively animated The popular cartoon centres on Henry, who meets someone or something new every day, be it a whale, witch, the sun, the moon or a car. In 2016, Nickelodeon International brought the first two seasons of the award-winning pre-school series across markets on six continents including the UK, Scandinavia, Benelux, Germany, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Central & Eastern Europe, Russia, Israel, Australia and New Zealand, Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. The Day Henry Met has also been sold to RTE in Ireland, TV Ontario, Television Francaise Ontario and Knowledge Network in Canada, Canal Plus for all French-speaking territories worldwide, ABC in Australia, Kids TV in Korea, YLE in Finland and SVT in Sweden.
