Bratter has served in similar sustainability roles at Danone North America and WhiteWave Foods. Part of Bratter’s responsibilities include driving the casual-shoe manufacturer to net-zero emissions by 2030. “Consumers are keenly focused on purpose, inclusivity and a sustainable future, and Crocs has set clear ambitions to integrate sustainability into every part of their business and products,” Bratter said in a statement. Other changes to ensure that goal include sourcing sustainable materials for Crocs shoes and developing ways to recycle shoes after use. Crocs CEO Andrew Rees emphasized the need for sustainability in statements regarding Bratter joining the company. “As a brand that invites everyone to be comfortable in their own shoes, we have an equal responsibility to ensure we’re doing our part to create a more comfortable world,” Rees said in a statement. Bratter joins the company at a time of fast-paced growth. Crocs recently doubled the footprint of its headquarters , moving within Broomfield to a 190,000 square foot location. Shares of Crocs closed up 6.44% Tuesday, at $77.70 per share.
