Solid-state cells are those that have a solid electrolyte, which is supposed to increase the safety of such batteries. This is basically the only condition, so you can’t say that solid-state cells have such and such properties (a popular generalization is that they don’t like cold or fast charging, which is true for some, but not necessarily for all) because anodes and cathodes can be of completely different types and hence different properties, just as the electrolyte itself can affect them (even this is not the same for all solid-state cells). In the case of NIO, its cars will have cells from the company WeLion and unsurprisingly there has been a slight delay of a few months, so the ET7 with the 150kWh battery won’t be available this quarter as originally planned, but sometime in the first half of next year.
