French Tech 120 / Next 40 : montée de Swile, entrée de Web Geo Services
Cinq pépites d’Occitanie font partie du French Tech 120 / Next 40, classement de référence piloté par la Mission French Tech qui vise à accompagner les startups les plus prometteuses du territoire. Du côté de la French Tech Méditerranée, à Montpellier, on retrouve sans surprise la licorne Swile, déjà sélectionnée les deux années précédentes, et une entrée, celle de Web Geo Services. La promotion 2022 French Tech 120 et Next 40, dévoilée ce 1er février par Cédric O, le secrétaire d'État à la transition numérique, signe encore cette année une concentration de startups en Ile-de-France (près de 70%), et loin derrière, la région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes avec six startups. L'Occitanie monte toutefois sur la 3e marche, avec cinq entreprises dans la promotion, témoignant d'une dynamique certaine : Swile et Web Geo Services côté Montpellier, Loft Orbital, Kinéis et le fournisseur d'énergie verte Ilek côté Toulouse. Pour rappel, le dispositif French Tech Next40/120 cible des startups françaises prometteuses ayant atteint un certain stade de maturité, confirmé par leurs investisseurs et/ou l'hypercroissance de leur chiffre d'affaires. La sélection est réalisée en fonction de critères objectifs de performance économique : 40 entreprises (le Next 40) valorisées au moins un milliard de dollars, ou ayant réalisé une levée de fonds supérieure à 100 millions d'euros au cours des trois dernières années, avec un modèle économique validé par les investisseurs et clients ; 40 entreprises sélectionnées sur un critère de levées de fonds (supérieures à 20 millions d'euros) ; et 40 entreprises sélectionnées sur un critère de croissance du chiffre d'affaires. « C'est un indice qui a été créé pour dire quels seront les acteurs de l'économie de demain, quelles sont les startups qui pourront un jour remplacer les entreprises du CAC40, donc nous sommes contents d'en faire partie, se réjouit d'ailleurs Loïc Soubeyrand, le fondateur de Swile. La question, c'est quand les nouvelles valeurs prendront-elles le pas sur les anciennes ? »
Swile, initialement positionnée sur le marché du titre-restaurant dématérialisé, annonçait alors avoir capté 13% du marché des avantages salariaux, soit 15.000 entreprises clientes et 500.000 utilisateurs (elle avait notamment raflé le marché des titres-restaurant du groupe Carrefour, soit 62.000 salariés utilisateurs, en janvier 2021, et racheté la start-up brésilienne Vee Beneficios en février 2021, mettant ainsi un pied sur le marché brésilien). Alors qu'elle employait 500 salariés, elle annonçait vouloir doubler de taille en recrutant 500 collaborateurs d'ici à fin 2022, répartis entre la France et le Brésil. Faire bouger les curseurs sur les réglementations
« Être sélectionnées dans le classement French Tech 120 et Next 40 amène de l'image, de la visibilité aux startups, au national mais aussi à l'international, souligne Laure Lenzotti, directrice de la French Tech Méditerranée. Elles bénéficient d'accompagnement durant un an en fonction de leurs besoins spécifiques sur le financement, sur le développement à l'international, sur les recrutements. Les entreprises sont mises en relation avec services publics dédiés, et ces programmes sont aussi l'occasion d'identifier des problèmes de réglementation pour les faire évoluer. »
C'est notamment un des points qu'espère travailler Loïc Soubeyrand : « Il y a des enjeux d'accompagnement sur l'économie de demain qui passent notamment sur comment faire bouger les curseurs sur différentes réglementations sur le marché du travail, sur le monde du paiement. Être dans cet écosystème du Next 40 qui peut faire bouger les lignes est un atout. On a réellement accès à des interlocuteurs, dans les pouvoirs publics, avec un bon niveau de réactivité ». Le geofencing, un "must have"
La 2e startup sélectionnée par le dispositif French Tech 120, et pour la première fois, c'est donc l'entreprise montpelliéraine Web Geo Services, spécialisée dans le geofencing, les technologies de cartographie et de géolocalisation pour le commerce via Woosmap, sa plateforme de géolocalisation intelligente. Elle annonce 450 clients, essentiellement dans les secteurs de la distribution (Carrefour, Auchan, Décathlon, Leroy Merlin, Boulanger, Jardiland, L'Oréal, LVMH, Nissan, KFC...), du transport, des mobilités et du voyage (Accor Hôtel, B&B Hôtels, SNCF, Heetch), ou de la logistique comme La Poste. Web Geo Services réalise la moitié de son chiffre d'affaires à l'export et a ouvert des filiales au Royaume-Uni, en Italie, en Espagne, aux Pays-Bas, en Allemagne, en Inde (Bombay) et à Singapour. « C'est un beau point de passage pour nous, déclare Jean-Thomas Rouzin, co-fondateur (avec Mathias Fliti) et directeur général délégué de Web Geo Services. Cela traduit une chose importante, c'est que la géolocalisation est devenue un "must have" dans la digitalisation des parcours clients, une discipline à part entière. Ce n'est plus une option, et cela s'est accéléré avec le Covid. La géolocalisation, c'est ce qui drive notre croissance. »
Le dirigeant indique que « c'est surtout notre croissance à deux chiffres qui nous vaut ce classement », restant toutefois discret sur les chiffres de cette croissance. Ce qu'il attend du programme French Tech 120 ? « De la visibilité, de la crédibilité auprès de nos partenaires financiers et institutionnels, mais aussi augmenter notre attractivité pour attirer les talents car la bataille est très importante et la compétition très dure, donc faire partie du French Tech 120, c'est donner un gage de sérieux au marché... Nous avons actuellement trois ou quatre postes d'ingénieurs ouverts pour l'équipe tech de Montpellier. »
En 2020 et 2021, l e French Tech 120 avait aussi sélectionné Microphyt , spécialisée dans la production d'ingrédients issus de microalgues et dédiés au secteur de la nutrition et du bien-être, dans l'écosystème montpelliérain. Elle ne renouvellera pas l'essai cette année. Cécile Chaigneau
