As the Chief Executive Officer who formed Waystar, Matt also spearheaded the $2.7 billion sale of Waystar to EQT and CPPIB, with Bain Capital retaining a minority stake in the company. Before joining Waystar as CEO and board member in 2017, Matt was president of Sunquest Information Systems, where he led several acquisitions and guided the company’s transformation into a global leader in laboratory diagnostic informatics. Previously, Matt was with Vista Equity Partners, where he served as president and board member of Greenway Health, CEO and board member of Vitera Healthcare Solutions, and CEO and board member of SirsiDynix. From 2004 to 2007, Matt was vice president and general manager of Henry Schein Practice Solutions. Earlier in his career, he was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company. A number of industry and business publications have acknowledged Matt’s leadership, including as one of Becker’s Hospital Review’s Entrepreneurs to Know, Healthcare IT News’s H.I.T. Men & Women of the Year and Utah Business Magazine’s Forty Under 40. Matt was also named one of the Top 50 Healthcare CEOs in 2019 and 2020 by the Healthcare Technology Report.
