בלקברישגיא כהן בלקברי סוגרת את מרכז המו"פ שלה בישראל, 4 שנים לאחר שהוקם על בסיס רכישת הסטארטאפ הישראלי WatchDox - כך נודע ל-TheMarker. כתוצאה מהמהלך, צפויים להיות מפוטרים בסופו של דבר כל 40 העובדים.בלקברי הקנדית (לשעבר RIM) אמנם זכורה כיצרנית של טלפונים חכמים עם מקלדת, אך מאז 2016 היא לא מתמקדת בטלפונים, אלא בשירותי תוכנה ואבטחת מידע ארגוניים (מותג הטלפונים בלקברי נמצא כיום בבעלות TCL הסינית). באפריל 2015 היא רכשה את חברת הסייבר הישראלית WatchDox בסכום שהוערך אז בכ-100 מיליון דולר.
