Vshosting~ Now Offering Hosting Services in Hungary Telco The biggest provider of managed hosting in CEE, vshosting~, is now offering hosting services in Hungary, looking to help Hungarian online businesses develop and reduce IT costs by up to 70%, according to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal. Since 2020, vshosting~ has been a part of the global group Contabo and today they provide hosting for tens of thousands of European e-shops including well-known names such as GymBeam, Notino, and Pilulka. Hungarian e-commerce has been experiencing a rapid slowdown due to the current economic crisis, the press release notes. GKID estimates only 8-10% annual growth in domestic online retailing in 2022 which with a 21% inflation rate results in an actual downturn in real figures. At the same time, the cost of IT, which is vital for online businesses, continues to rise while reliability, customer trust, and high-quality service are more important than ever. Complex managed hosting services, such as the ones offered by vshosting~, maybe the silver bullet Hungarian e-shops need to succeed in this difficult time. “Hosting is widely underestimated in the e-commerce sector despite being the vital foundation on which each e-shop rests. Choosing a sub-par hosting solution often leads to struggle with e-shop speed, reliability, and security which are major turn-offs for customers,” says Damir Špoljarič, CEO of vshosting~. His words are confirmed by Eset's SMB Digital Security Sentiment Report, according to which more than two-thirds of SMEs have experienced a data security incident in 2022. Also, it has long been known in the online business community that a website loading speed over three seconds is not tolerated by visitors. Hosting is what allows people to access websites on the internet. Its providers essentially create “places” for websites to “live” and rent these to the website owners. To do so, they use specialized computers called servers that are connected to the internet and aggregated in specialized buildings, i.e. data centers. The simplest hosting services end with providing this “place” and the online business owner has to hire IT experts to take care of everything in the background of his website, however, without the right specialists, a company may run the risk of failure of their e-shop. Managed hosting on the other hand also deals with the site’s setup, maintenance, and updates. This means making sure the e-shop loads fast, functions well even when a very large number of shoppers visit it and is secured from cyberattacks, the press release notes. “Taking care of the back end of a website is highly specialized IT work that requires years of expertise or else your risk severe damage to your online business. To run a large e-shop for example, you need a team of several IT experts to manage it. As our clients can attest, it is up to 70% less costly to choose a quality managed hosting provider than do it in-house,” says Špoljarič. Vshosting~ boasts having close to 100 IT experts on site and 24/7 support with a 60-second response time. They work as close partners with each online business, create a fully customized solution for them and take care of the complex processes in the background. ADVERTISEMENT
