Numerous carriers have reported an interesting paradox: the number of SIP trunks is rising due to adoption of Microsoft Teams phone and/or Zoom phone, but the utilization of the trunks is decreasing.” Overall, Omdia is seeing: SIP trunks with UCaaS solutions increasing. Trunks for IP PBX solutions on the decline because of the migration from on-premises telephony solutions to cloud-based offers.
