to help Glaswegians lose millions of pounds Entrepreneur and investor Brian Welsh will offer both software and business expertise, alongside his injection of cash into the Glasgow-based business by Shane Donnelly Updated: Aug 21, 2017 Published: Aug 21, 2017 © Simon Lees Voomfit, an ‘all-in-one’ resource for local fitness and wellbeing needs, has secured £150,000 of funding after being backed by software entrepreneur and investor Brian Welsh. Aiming to “transform Glasgow’s fitness industry” users can browse and book people and services from across the fitness and wellness industry, with Voomfit claiming some of Glasgow’s most sought after fitness professionals and chefs have already signed-up to be part of the online hub. Founded by Ross McMillan and Jordan Paisley just this year, the duo have also recruited three ‘brand ambassadors’ to help grow the platform’s user base and engage with business across the Scottish city. Welsh will also offer both software and business expertise, alongside his injection of cash into the Glasgow-based business, with plans to launch in London and across the UK already on the cards. Currents partners on the site include Tennent’s Training Academy, SweatUnion Glasgow, Prep Fitness Kitchen, Glasgow Life, The Gym Group, My Online PT and Malmaison Glasgow Jordan said: “This injection of funds will support the continued growth of the website, increase functionality and help us to develop our brand. We want make it as easy as possible for the people of Glasgow to get fit and healthy. “ Action point: (external site, opens in new tab) Ross added: “If you think what site you would visit to book a flight, or to look for a new property, most people have an answer. If you then ask them where they would go to find a personal trainer, gym membership, spa package or outdoor activity, they’ll struggle. “We are really excited by the opportunity to give users more control and flexibility over how, where and when they get fit.” Welsh said: “Fitness is such a huge part of modern life, but there’s still a lot of guesswork and an element of luck when it comes to finding the right class or personal trainer. “Like any great idea, this is a solution to a problem. I’m very excited by the vision of Jordan and Ross, and to be part of the company at this early stage. I believe this idea has unlimited potential to revolutionise the fitness industry.” Share this article
