[Logo via City of Arlington] The city of Arlington is set to celebrate the Texas Rangers’ World Series championship win on Friday, Nov. 3, with a triumphant parade through the Entertainment District. “The Texas Rangers’ World Series victory is a dream five decades in the making,” said Arlington Mayor Jim Ross in a statement. “Mayor Tom Vandergriff went to D.C. and convinced the Washington Senators to become the Texas Rangers and move to what at that time was a small bedroom community in the middle of the Metroplex.” The parade will feature all Texas Rangers players, the World Series trophy, and plenty of fanfare with marching bands as Arlington honors the Rangers’ first-ever World Series title in true Texas-sized fashion. “The Rangers have stayed with Arlington for 51 years,” Mayor Ross said. “We’ve helped them build three stadiums here, the community has supported them, the City Councils have supported them, and the Rangers have reciprocated year after year with their commitment to the community.” And now, they’ve given us a World Series championship, he say. “We want fans to come out to join us in honoring this historic accomplishment,” the Mayor said. The parade will kick off at Globe Life Field at 12:15 p.m. and make its way through the Entertainment District before concluding with a rally outside of AT&T Stadium. Bally Sports Southwest will provide complete coverage of the parade and ceremony. After the parade, fans are invited to gather at the Globe Life Field North Plaza and Tundra Lot B for a public ceremony featuring remarks from Rangers executives, manager Bruce Bochy, and players led by Hall of Famer Chuck Morgan.
