By Gambling Insider The International Association of Gaming Regulators (IAGR) has appointed Kasper Vestergaard Frandsen, one of its founding members, as Chair of the Statistics Advisory Committee. Frandsen, who retains his role as Market Analyst and Special Advisor with the Danish Gambling Authority, has a background in economics, leadership and management. In his previous work with the Committee, he has been central to many of the statistical analysis surveys undertaken by the IAGR, in addition to hosting meetings with gambling operators, suppliers and affiliates, as well as supporting the organisation’s annual work plans. On his promotion, Frandsen commented: “First, a huge thanks to my predecessor, James Green, for the contribution to the sub-committee. I am honoured to be appointed as the new Chair, and I have some big shoes to fill. “The last couple of surveys we have done in the committee have really zeroed in on a relevant topic to bring the most value to the members of IAGR. Right now, we are planning a report on regulators’ use and collection of data.” The IAGR, which is currently preparing for its upcoming conference in Melbourne, commits to supporting international gambling regulators with the implementation of new legislation, as well as providing a forum to share best practice. The Association also used the announcement to welcome additional recruits, including Andrew O’Brien, who works for Australian Communications and Media Authority, Toru Kajiwara, from Japan Casino Regulatory Commission and Kinga Warda, from Malta Gaming Authority. Their respective appointments to IAGR’s Statistics Advisory Committee mean it now has eight permanent members.
