Scholarship Program March 03, 2022 09:00 AM Eastern Standard Time TORONTO--( BUSINESS WIRE )-- Varicent , the leader in Sales Performance Management (SPM), is proud to announce its E.D.G.E. Scholarship Program is now open and accepting applications. Scholarship Program (which stands for Equity, Diversity, Growth, Empowerment) was created in 2021 to foster more opportunities for diversity within the technology sector for historically underrepresented people, specifically women and people of color, with an emphasis on the Black and Latinx communities. “It’s important for us at Varicent to provide resources that foster inclusion in both our industry and our communities,” said Marc Altshuller, President and CEO, Varicent. “I’m proud to continue the E.D.G.E. Scholarship Program to reinforce our commitment to expanding opportunities in technology. Education is a pathway to opportunity, and I hope once again we can enable students to focus on their goals, rather than the financial barriers which might stand in their way.” This year, Varicent will award up to 20 scholarships of $5,000. Applicants must be high school seniors, students in their final year of upper secondary school, high school/upper secondary school graduates or current college undergraduates (including CEGEP students) located in the U.S. and Canada. Eligible students must be planning to pursue a STEM/technology-related major including, but not limited to, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Technology, and Mathematics. Applicants must also plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two or four-year college, CEGEP or university or vocational-technical school (or equivalent) for the entire upcoming academic year. Scholarship recipients will be selected based on several criteria reviewed by an internal expert panel created by Varicent. Scholarship Program is one of the initiatives under Varicent’s corporate social responsibility called Our Cause . Varicent is determined to apply science and technology to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges, creating diverse and meaningful change in the workforce. Applications for the 2022 E.D.G.E. Scholarship Program will be open from March 1, 2022, to April 5, 2022, or until the first 500 applications are received. The program is administered by Scholarship America®, North America’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals.
