U-Systems manufactures ultrasound products specifically designed for earlier detection of breast cancer. The company has developed hardware and software technology to create an imaging device, the somo-v Automated Breast Ultrasound (ABUS) system. The somo-v's ergonomic scan-head technology automatically acquires wide field-of-view breast images and displays them in a 3D format. The somo-v ABUS images are immediately displayed in an easy-to-read format. The Thick-Slice Coronal View provides the radiologist with a quick overview of the breast. The somo-v\'s automated acquisition and field of view, allows radiologists to review more breast tissue, quicker than with conventional ultrasound.In November 2012, U-Systems was acquired by GE Healthcare. The valuation of U-Systems was undisclosed. Other terms of the deal were not released.
