The digital platform for trucker services Trizy, controlled by the Cosan Group (a Brazilian conglomerate producer of bioethanol, sugar and energy), announced on Tuesday the acquisition of B3 Agro startup , in a bid to expand the customer base amid the growing demand for integrated logistics services due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Part of Trizy’s operation, created 14 months ago, is similar to that of digital road freight platforms, such as CargoX, TruckPad, and BBM Logística. The company claims to have handled over BRL 1.5 billion in freight. With the acquisition of B3 Agro, the active base of those who use the application every month rises from 50,000 to 80,000. But the Ponta Grossa-based Trizy app also adds services such as document scanning, personalized GPS for trucks and service stations, and services on the roads. This way, it creates a greater chance of recurrence of the use of the app by truck drivers, which can function as a kind of marketplace for the sector. “About half of the users interact through the app daily and this is the number that matters because it opens up several business possibilities,” said Trizy’s CEO, Renato Gouveia. With the acquisition of Joinville-based B3 Agro the monthly volume of scheduling operations as freight by the Trizy application rises from 150,000 to 400,000. The goal is to reach a total of 6 million by 2021. According to the CEO, despite the efficiency gain obtained with the freight platforms by providing a meeting between supply and demand, there are a variety of other situations that often delay freight, such as congestion in ports or lack of specific information in GPS services for truck traffic. “In some cases, it warns the truck driver not to go to the crowded port, but to reschedule the trip so as not to stay in a queue for several hours,” said Gouveia. The portal also includes carrier management and travel tracking, services demanded mainly by companies, the public that is most responsible for the profitability of the business. Although controlled by Cosan, Trizy, which also has the technology company KMM as a partner, has autonomous management. The CEO predicts that the business will reach profitability in 2022.
