Will co-founded Core Capital in 1999 and has served as Managing Director since then. Core is a Washington DC venture capital firm focused on early-stage companies developing disruptive, “core” technologies targeting high-growth sectors. Will is focused on enterprise-related SaaS and internet technology companies, generally companies seeking their first institutional round of funding. He currently serves as a board member or board observer at Pendo, Fugue, Radius Networks, and Stardog. Previous board roles include Olo (NYSE:OLO), KnowledgeTree (now part of Seismic), SwapDrive (acquired by Symantec), Infinite Power Solutions (acquired by Apple), IXI (acquired by Equifax), TPS Solutions (acquired by Motorola), UpdateLogic (acquired by Silicon Image), Foresight (acquired by Tibco), and SilverStorm (acquired by QLogic).
Before starting Core Capital, Will had 13 years of venture capital and private equity experience in both large and small firms, providing both early-stage and growth-stage financing primarily to technology-based companies. He was involved in early-stage financings for many tech companies that became or were acquired by $billion+ companies, including webMethods, Peerless Software, Digene, and Discovery Communications.
Will is a member of Young Presidents Organization Gold (YPO) and serves on numerous non-profit boards, including Venture Philanthropy Partners, the Meyer Foundation, and The Madeira School. Besides spending time with his wife and three children, he enjoys coaching youth baseball, fishing, golf, and following the Nationals and the team formerly known as the Redskins.
