Trekksoft captured $7.2 million in revenue during 2020, as the coronavirus pandemic crushed the tours and activities sector worldwide. The Switzerland-based technology provider to operators says it achieved "slightly positive" EBITDA over the 12-month period but its customers saw their combined sales decline by two-thirds. Sales volumes across its base of businesses came in at $191 million but it saw its own revenues fall by 30%, with destinations effectively under lockdown for significant periods during 2020 and travel restrictions put in place by most countries around the world. Two of the group's subsidiaries, DigiTickets and Waldhart Software, stood out with "strong results" despite the challenging business environment, the company says. Trekksoft is one of very few tech providers in the sector that part-publishes its financial performance. The company says it hopes international tourism will return in some capacity during 2021 and then be back to 2019 levels by 2022.
