Celebrated artist puts her works on display

Aug 11, 2016

Art exhibit "Tiny Pictures" on display at A Reader's Heaven 11 Aug 2016, 2 p.m. Local artist Annie Joseph is exhibiting her artworks at A Reader's Heaven in Mort Street. PHOTO: Supplied. lm081016ann ANNIE Joseph is a local artist who turns the landscapes of the central west surrounds into beautiful vistas. She works with charcoal, pen and wash, watercolours and acrylics. Working out of a studio at her property in Old Bowenfels, Annie constantly looks further out in the region for inspiration. She’s lived here for close to 35 years and is a big part of our local art scene. Annie now has an exhibition of her landscape paintings and drawings on display at A Reader’s Heaven in Mort Street. Running off the back of her first successful solo exhibition at Lithgow’s Prints n Frames, Annie is displaying her work in town once again. The exhibition is called “Little Pictures” and is a collection of familiar scenes of Lithgow surrounds. Annie said she’s often inspired by the shapes, colours and the light to be found in the central west. “It’s in the hills and the valleys, ups, downs, curves and slopes,” Annie said. “Unlike Sydney we really get all four seasons here, there’s a lot of colour out there to see. “Out here the sky comes down to your boots.” Annie said her property looks out towards Hampton and every day she wakes up there’s something different to see. All Annie’s works are for sale. The exhibition runs through until the first week of September. Annie would like to thank Wendy Hawkes, Lithgow City Council and owners of A Reader’s Heaven Paul Phillips and Jo McClelland Phillips for helping to make the exhibition happen. Latest News
