Eye On Stadiums: Shift4 Adds the Miami Dolphins; Oakview Group Partners With Oracle

Nov 15, 2023

Eye On Stadiums: Shift4 Adds the Miami Dolphins; Oakview Group Partners With Oracle Shift4 Payments Inc. extended its reach in stadium payments Wednesday by partnering with the National Football League’s Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium to process payments for ticket sales for Dolphins games and other events at the stadium. The deal builds on Shift4’s integration with Ticketmaster Entertainment LLC, which was finalized in August. Under the terms of that deal, Shift4 processes ticket payments for all sports teams using Ticketmaster as their ticket distributor, which includes the Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium. “We are excited to partner with Shift4 as they support our continuous pursuit of elevating the fan experience,” Katharine Bohlmann, Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium vice president of corporate partnerships, says in a statement. “As we continue to bring world-class events to Hard Rock Stadium, we look forward to the integration of Shift4’s payment processing platform to improve the ticket sale process.” Shift4 has been building a strong presence in stadium payments in recent years. Prior to its deal with the Dolphins, the processor inked an agreement in August with the National Hockey League’s St. Louis Blues . Shift4 now has processing deals with teams in every major professional sports league, in addition to colleges and entertainment venues, the company says. In related news, sports and live entertainment venue developer Oakview Group LLC has partnered with Oracle Corp. to deploy Oracle’s MICROS Simphony Cloud and Payments Cloud Service in its owned-and-operated arenas. The deal will provide arenas within Oakview’s portfolio with an omnichannel ordering and payments platform for concessions that includes acceptance of credit and debit cards, Apple Pay , Google Pay, and Samsung Pay. In addition, the Oracle platform will provide Oakview venues with real-time data that can help improve operations within the venue, Oakview says. “Oak View Group’s partnership with Oracle is 100% about the fan experience,” Ken Gaber, president of Oakview Group Hospitality, says in a statement. “From grab-and-go, self-checkout, mobile ordering to just-walk-out …we are ensuring our technology mirrors the technology our guests experience in other aspects of their lives.” Arenas and venues within Oakview’s portfolio include UBS Arena, home of the National Hockey League’s New York Islanders, the University of Texas’s Moody Center, and the Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando.
