The newly formed TRF Energy Solutions will move into its new home in The Woodlands' recently built Wildwood Corporate Center near Sawdust Road as soon as March. TRF Energy CEO Sam Thigpen said the company is going on a hiring spree and building new manufacturing and fabrication facilities. The company is the combination of Thigpen Energy LLC, which was already planning to move from Cut and Shoot, Texas, to The Woodlands, and Houston-based Recapture Solutions LLC. The new company name combines Thigpen, Recapture and Flex Leasing Power & Service, which is a Colorado-based company acquired earlier this year by Recapture. "By Jan. 1, the structure will be completely merged, and we'll be off to the races," Thigpen said. "Our business growth is going to be focused on being out of The Woodlands. "

Boston- and Houston-based private equity firm Intervale Capital LLC bought Recapture earlier this year and, shortly thereafter, purchased Thigpen Energy as well. Thigpen said the company he founded was already planning to partner with Recapture to service clients in the Bakken Shale. So the partnerships with Intervale were natural fits. While the plan originally was for the companies to operate independently, Thigpen said it was determined that it made more sense to merge them. "It's a little bit of everything. It's a little new, a little evolved, a little old," Thigpen said. "It's an exciting time for us with a lot of natural gas solutions. "
Thigpen said TRF will have more than 20,000 square feet of office space in Wildwood, and Recapture's Houston office will be subleased. Page 1
