This habit is about recognizing that the whole can be greater than the sum of its parts. Covey uses the term "synergy" to describe the cooperative interaction of elements within a system, resulting in an outcome that surpasses what each element could achieve on its own. The collective strengths and talents of a group to solve problems, generate creative ideas, and accomplish goals more effectively and efficiently. “The word SYNERGY comes from the Greek word for working together and it’s based on Aristotle’s theory that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts…. Synergy is everywhere in nature. If you put two pieces of wood together, they will hold much more than the total of the weight held by each separately….. One plus one equals three or more.”

But, to cultivate this habit, individuals must first practice Habits 4 and 5, "Think Win-Win" and "Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood." Sharpen the Saw: Take care of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being
"Sharpen the Saw," a metaphorical concept that emphasizes the importance of continuous self-renewal and self-improvement. This habit reminds us that, in the pursuit of effectiveness and balance, it's crucial to take care of our well-being in all dimensions—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. The phrase "sharpen the saw" is derived from a simple story: A woodcutter who was struggling to cut down a tree was advised by a wise old man to take a break and sharpen his saw. Although the woodcutter initially resisted, he eventually recognized that sharpening his tool would allow him to work more efficiently and effectively. “Habit 7 is about taking time to ‘sharpen the saw’. Developing emotional intelligence and practicing empathy are essential aspects of this dimension. Spiritual: Spiritual self-renewal is about connecting with one's inner values, principles, and beliefs. It doesn't necessarily pertain to a specific religion but rather to a deeper sense of purpose, ethics, and values that guide one's life. This Habit reminds us that taking time for self-renewal isn't a luxury but a necessity. Neglecting self-care can lead to burnout, decreased productivity, and strained relationships. On the other hand, individuals who regularly sharpen their saw are better equipped to tackle life's challenges and to contribute more effectively to their families, workplaces, and communities. Italian aquaponic firm, The Circle, raises €2.1 million for new production facilities in Rome and Milan for sustainable food innovation. Italian aquaponic agricultural company The Circle has raised a further €2.1 million in a round led by Opes Italia and Sparviero Holding. The firm has raised a total of €3.6 million as it has already acquired €1.5 million from Invitalia through the Smart & Start Italy - PON Enterprises and Competitiveness 2014 – 2020 program. "We invested in The Circle because we believe it is a reference point not only in Italy for circular production innovation, which addresses the urgent global need to efficiently use resources such as water and soil in the food production chain. We are proud to contribute with The Circle's proposal to bring sustainable food to Italian tables and soon, to European ones," says Elena Casolari , Partner and CEO of Opes Italia. Founded in 2017 by biotechnologists Valerio Ciotola, Simone Cofini, Lorenzo Garreffa, and marketer Thomas Marino The Circle's fresh funding will allow for the build of two new aquaponic salad and herb production facilities, one in Rome and one in Milan. These facilities will be for the restaurant industry. It will also see the production of aquaponic-origin pesto, oils, and flavoured salts, which will be located in Abruzzo. In addition to a significant increase in the production of aquaponic products, the investments will allow for significant progress within the facilities through the implementation of the intellectual property developed over the years in both cultivation systems and cutting and cleaning operations," says Ciotola, CEO of The Circle. As part of the strategic agreement with Circle Ventures, XION will use USDC as its primary transactional currency. Burnt, a web3 developer of the XION blockchain, announced in a press release on Oct. 5 the launch of its public testnet for XION, a layer-1 network focused on “tangible use cases.”
Besides the testnet launch, Burnt also revealed it has signed a prior strategic investment agreement with Circle Ventures, the venture arm of Circle. As part of the deal, XION will be using USDC as its primary currency, displaying all prices on the blockchain in the stablecoin. “With the beta launch of XION, developers can build purpose-built applications that leverage USDC for widespread adoption.”

Burnt says its blockchain has already onboarded over 200,000 active on-chain wallets and processed more than 1 million on-chain transactions. The network is said to be supported by over 70 partners, including Checkout.com, Exodvs, Osmosis and others. For Circle, this is the fourth expansion of USDC since September 2023. As crypto.news previously reported , the Boston-based stablecoin issuer also rolled out USDC on Base, a Coinbase-incubated decentralized network, and OP Mainnet, the layer-2 blockchain built by Ethereum ( ETH ) scaling protocol Optimism. However, USDC is not the only stablecoin Circle is trying to broaden its presence as much as it can. In late September, Circle and Stellar joined forces to integrate the euro-anchored stablecoin called EURC into Stellar’s blockchain infrastructure. Besides Stellar, the EURC stablecoin already operates on Avalanche (AVAX) and Ethereum (ETH) networks.
