Press enter to search 08/19/2020 Quest Products won the Drug Store News Buyers’ Choice Award for its Sunburnt Daily After-Sun Lotion at ECRM’s Sun Care Virtual Session held in July. Tactopack was a finalist for its SunMitt Pre-filled Sunscreen “Zeromess” Applicator. The products were selected from dozens of entries submitted by participating suppliers. Buyers were able to evaluate each entry and cast their votes based on product packaging and innovation via the Drug Store News-branded Buyers Choice Awards section of the ECRM Connect platform. “The two winners have developed innovative products to address specific sun-care needs,” said “Craig Chmielowicz, SVP of Health & Beauty Care for ECRM. “Quest Products uses natural ingredients to not only soothe burns, but also enrich the skin, and Tactopak’s SunMitt solves a problem we all face applying sunscreen – messy hands. Congratulations to both winners.” First place winner Quest Products is a branded manufacturer of self-care products with the mission of providing innovative solutions to help consumers take charge of their health. Its Sunburnt Daily After-Sun Lotion includes natural ingredients and botanicals to provide immediate cooling and relief to sunburns as they soothe the skin. In addition, the lotion works as a natural moisturizer to help damaged skin repair and stay hydrated. The company also makes an After-Sun Gel, and a face mask that is designed for sunburns specifically on the face or forehead. Its new SunBurnt Plus will offer all the same benefits as the lotion plus 4 percent Lidocaine for pain relief associated with burns. “We found the ECRM virtual format to be a great forum to have important category building conversations with our customers,” said Jeff Featherstone, SVP of Sales for Quest Products. “This was as close as we could hope to get to the live format, and the technical delivered on the promise of seamless conversations for successful new item introductions and category planning.” Finalist Tactopack was formed by entrepreneurs Steven Bank and JD Albert in 2017. Bank has decades of experience in manufacturing and retail, and Albert is an MIT-trained engineer with deep experience solving complex product development and manufacturing problems. Both have brought high-volume products through production into the market, and the partnership has culminated in a range of products with four granted utility patents and more in the pipeline. Their first products are the SunMitt and BronzeMitt. SunMitt is a pre-filled mitt applicator that lets users apply sunscreen evenly and quickly to the entire body while hands stay clean. Unlike sprays, there are no unpleasant fumes and no issues on windy days. The built-in pump lets users control the application amount and the soft foam surface is loved by kids and adults alike, according to the company. The product is developed to be compact, easy to carry, and TSA compliant when folded and stored. The applicator is pre-filled with 3 fluid ounces of SPF50 sports sunscreen that features 80 minutes of water resistance. The sunscreen is oxybenzone and PABA free and is reef safe.
