OKLAHOMA CITY, June 24, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Stonebridge Consulting , an operations optimization consultancy dedicated to the energy industry, today announced that it's putting its money where its mouth is when it comes to saving oil & gas operators money. The firm is launching a holistic diesel fuel spend assessment program called FuelFilter. Fuel spend, though a significant contributor to CapEx, is often overlooked as a material savings opportunity by oil and gas operators, explained Leo Oei, Vice President of Operations Consulting at Stonebridge. "Stonebridge research confirms that most operators peg fuel pricing to published indexes, then add margin and freight. While this is a generally accepted structure for fuel contracts from a costing standpoint, pricing by index leaves many determinants of price unchecked." The FuelFilter assessment instead analyzes spending comprehensively, including fuel contracts, invoicing, products, index, freight, margin, ancillary charges, taxes and fees, and field tickets confirming actual fuel delivery. Resulting from the analysis, energy operations experts at Stonebridge are able to identify major contributors to cost and risk—from supply security to safety; and from operational performance to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) compliance. Moreover, the FuelFilter program highlights any/all cost savings opportunities. "Often, the devil is in the details," Oei said. "In an environment with escalating fuel prices, supply disruptions due to natural disasters or cyber security threats, and tightening ESG requirements, our clients are receiving maximum value from their fuel providers by improving invoicing and payment terms, lowering compliance costs, and discovering value in many other unseen aspects that make up fuel spend. Stonebridge hatched the idea for the FuelFilter assessment given its 20+ years of experience working with large fuel distributors, oilfield service companies, and operators. In all cases where the FuelFilter assessment has been conducted, clients have discovered significant hidden value. IBM announced advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and hybrid cloud at the company’s Think conference. The news included:
A new capability in Cloud Pak for Data that uses AI to help customers get answers to distributed queries as much as 8x faster than previously and at nearly half the cost of other compared data warehouses. AutoSQL (Structured Query Language) automates how customers access, integrate and manage data without ever having to move it, regardless of where the data resides or how it is stored. Watson Orchestrate is a new interactive AI capability designed to increase the personal productivity of business professionals across sales, human resources, operations, and more. Requiring no IT skills to use, Watson Orchestrate enables professionals to initiate work in a very human way, using collaboration tools such as Slack and email in natural language. It also connects to popular business applications like Salesforce, SAP, and Workday. IBM Research is releasing Project CodeNet, a large-scale, open-source dataset comprised of 14 million code samples, 500 million lines of code, and 55 programming languages, to enable AI’s understanding and translation of code. IBM has added a new capability into WebSphere Hybrid Edition that enables enterprises to optimize and modernize their applications for hybrid cloud. IBM Mono2Micro uses AI developed by IBM Research to analyze large enterprise applications and provide recommendations on how to best adapt them for the move to cloud. EY and IBM have established a Center of Excellence that offers new open hybrid cloud solutions built with Red Hat OpenShift for the IBM Cloud for Financial Services. Anchore announced an expanded collaboration with NVIDIA for container scanning to ensure the security of software hosted on NVIDIA’s NGC catalog. NGC is a curated collection of GPU-optimized artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and high-performance computing (HPC) container images that simplify and accelerate end-to-end workflows. The catalog will now integrate Anchore Enterprise container and policy scanning technology to perform automated security checks before containers are published. This integration will use Anchore technology to perform security scans for detecting software vulnerabilities (CVEs, RHSAs, GHSAs, and others); container image metadata violations (Dockerfile instructions, layer history); credential leaks (passwords, tokens, access keys); and permissive service network exposures (open ports)
Informatica announced a no-charge offering to help customers quickly and easily get started using the Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) to seamlessly process data integration and data loading use cases to Amazon Web Services (AWS). The Informatica Cloud Data Integration free service on AWS is designed to accelerate data integration, transformation, and loading of priority workloads to AWS for cloud data warehousing, data lakes, and analytics use cases. With this free service offer, Informatica is also providing integration with Amazon Redshift Console to simplify data ingestion from the most popular on-premises, cloud, application, and SaaS data sources to Amazon Redshift. Real-Time Innovations (RTI) announced the latest version of its software framework, RTI Connext. Connext 6.1 is designed to address the development and deployment challenges faced by companies building remotely-operated autonomous systems. Connext 6.1 introduces features to enable easy real-time remote operation over any network. For instance, if the network connection changes as the system moves, connectivity is seamless without reconnecting, secure without renegotiating, and reliable without losing information. Connext 6.1 supports and optimizes fast communications across highly variable local (LAN) and wide-area networks (WAN). Moreover, Connext 6.1 does not require software changes to support diverse network types. Its Application Programming Interfaces (API) abstracts the underlying networks, allowing developers to target any environment. UiPath announced new integrations with Tableau to enable Tableau users to deploy UiPath robots to automatically perform actions and trigger downstream business processes. The integrations make data and insights immediately actionable, turning Tableau reports and dashboards into dynamic action centers making automation easy for any business function in an organization. The UiPath Activity for Tableau uses Tableau APIs, so UiPath robots can extract relevant data from Tableau for use in UiPath automations. In addition, UiPath created the UiPath Connector for Tableau to allow a person to kick off automations from directly within Tableau reports or dashboards. Moogsoft announcedthe launch of new product features and several updates, including extendingintegration capabilities to easily and openly connect disparate tools and datainto a single source through the “Create Your Own Integration” andhybrid-cloud experiences; driving incident workflow automation to reduce toilusing workflow auto close automation, tag aggregation and context, andautomatic event enrichment; and making configuration and the lives of userseven easier with secure credential store, data configuration overview, andpersonalization. The new product features allow Moogsoft users to optimizeproductivity and focus time back on innovation. Applause announced the availability of its new SaaS product – Applause Codeless Automation (ACA). Applause Codeless Automation helps brands quickly scale their test automation strategies by enabling anyone to create test automation scripts – regardless of experience level or programming expertise – without writing a single line of code. ACA is compliant with modern open-source frameworks, including Selenium and Appium, and works with both native Android and iOS apps, with support for web applications coming soon. With ACA, users simply click through the pathways of an app within the product, which captures the steps and creates a test script. From there, users can run the tests on real devices and execute tests within the ACA product. HAProxy announced that HAProxy Data Plane API version 2.3 is now available. The new version simplifies the complexity exposed to users, as well as expand its set of features in areas like service discovery, logging, and validation. The most obvious change is moving the command-line arguments needed to start the API into a YAML configuration file. This version also supports service discovery of EC2 instances based on AWS instance tags. This latest release of the HAProxy Data Plane API also monitors the HAProxy configuration using Inotify. It also adds support for sending its request logs over Syslog and allows you to customize the format using Apache Log Format directives. In other news, HAProxy announced HAProxy 2.4, which adds exciting features such as support for HTTP/2 WebSockets, authorization and routing of MQTT and FIX (Financial Information Exchange) protocol messages, DNS resolution over TCP, server timeouts that you can change on the fly, dynamic SSL certificate storage for client certificates sent to backend servers, and an improved cache; it adds a built-in OpenTracing integration, new Prometheus metrics, and circuit breaking improvements. ChaosSearch announced the availability of the ChaosSearch Data Lake Platform in AWSMarketplace. ChaosSearch indexes a customer’s cloud data, rendering it fullysearchable and enabling data analytics at scale with massive reductions of time,cost, and complexity. ChaosSearch runs natively on AWS S3 object storage,providing value-added services that deliver an excellent customer experience.While many companies use S3 to stage data for other forms of analyticprocessing, ChaosSearch activates S3 to serve on-demand analytics withoutrequiring customers to move data or change any of their existing analyticstools. Camunda announcedthe general availability of Camunda Cloud, an enterprise SaaS solution forprocess automation built from the ground up for the cloud. Sierra Digital — an SAP , Microsoft and Qualtrics application partner — has acquired Stonebridge Consulting , a privately held technology solutions provider for the energy industry. Financial terms of the deal were undisclosed. Sierra Digital of Houston, Texas, focuses on such vertical markets as utilities, public sector, oil and gas, chemicals, manufacturing, consumer packaged goods (CPG) and retail. The company has 350 counsultants worldwide; four delivery centers in the U.S. and India; and 90 active clients, according to Sierra Digital’s website. Meanwhile, Stonebridge of Tulsa, Oklahoma, helps energy companies increase business efficiency and shrink operational costs, the seller says.
