Duwe lobbying firm to merge with Blunt's Statehouse Strategies - The Missouri Times

Dec 8, 2016

motimesblog.com December 7, 2016 JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Statehouse Strategies LLC has made a number of big moves in their short time in the capital city, and now, they’re making another splash. The Jefferson City-based lobbying firm will now be joined by Prestige Powers Strategic Government Relations, another firm owned and operated by lobbyist Daryl Duwe. “Statehouse Strategies continues to be successful with the hard work and commitment of our team to meet and exceed our clients’ goals,” Statehouse Strategies founder and chairman Andy Blunt said. “Daryl Duwe is one of the most talented and effective government relations experts in the field and we are pleased he is joining our team as we prepare for Missouri’s 2017 legislative session.” Duwe brings more than 30 years experience in state government, politics, broadcasting and government relations where he served in numerous leadership positions. In that time, he has covered the House of Representatives gavel-to-gavel for a statewide radio network, worked as a chief of staff, and served as a communications director and speechwriter. “I’m excited that our clients will have Daryl’s insight, which is gleaned from decades of experience in Jefferson City, across multiple sectors,” Blunt said. “Daryl’s prestigious client list is a culmination of a group of people that we will be honored to help him represent in Jefferson City.” “It’s a good deal,” Duwe said. “I’ve spent 10 years building a lobbying firm from scratch, and it’s nice to have somebody else recognize the value.” Duwe says he has known Andy Blunt for decades and is familiar and comfortable with all of his future co-workers. “We’ve been working together already, it’s going to be great working with them,” Duwe said. The 60-year-old lobbyist says that the move helps him consolidate his assets while increasing the opportunities for both him and his clients. He says that his style of lobbying is very personal and that joining with Statehouse Strategies will enable him to continue doing that, while also prepare for the eventuality of his retirement. Until that time, Duwe’s clients will remain under him. “I’ll be able to continue doing things my way, but we’ll also have the backing and support of Statehouse,” Duwe said. Duwe says the only thing that will change for his current clients is the location from which the invoices are coming. It’s the second major acquisition by Statehouse Strategies in recent months as former state Rep.  Noel Torpey will join the ranks as well. Duwe and Torpey are scheduled to officially join the ranks of Statehouse Strategies on Jan. 1, 2017. Sharing
