The businesses given a Royal Warrant by the Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip, who died today aged 99, supported companies across the country The video will auto-play soon8Cancel Play now The Duke of Edinburgh, who died today at the age of 99, was a customer of many businesses across the UK that proudly bear the Royal Warrant. Businesses that hold Royal Warrants of Appointment are able to use the Royal Arms in connection with their business to show that they provide goods or services to the Royal Household. The majority of Royal Warrant holders are represented by the Royal Warrant Holders Association , which works “to ensure the continued existence of the Royal Warrant of Appointment, to uphold its unique status within business and to protect the interests of Warrant holders”. Some 800 companies hold warrants from either the Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh or the Prince of Wales. The association’s website shows that Prince Philip granted warrants to 35 companies across the country. Today the Association said: “The Royal Warrant Holders Association, on behalf of all Warrant holders, expresses its deep sadness on the death of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh.” Here are the companies that were supported by Prince Philip - with more information available on the Association website .
