SkySparc, an independent solutions provider, has appointed Dennis Masich as new Practice Lead for its fast-growing global FIS practice. Masich will be charged with developing and executing the practice’s business growth strategy. Working with SkySparc’s engagement managers, he will focus on expanding the firm’s FIS service offering and delivering value to clients worldwide. Formed last year, SkySparc’s FIS practice is already leading strategic initiatives at a number of blue-chip clients, including treasury digitalisation and data analysis projects. Masich joins Skyparc from FIS, where he was most recently Regional Sales Manager, Scandinavia and Baltics, typically working with financial institutions to streamline their front-to-back operations, from trading and risk to back office to increase control over risks and costs. From previous roles, Masich has a diverse spectrum of experience, including sales and consulting roles on treasury implementations for buy-side firms, corporate finance advisory knowledge and fixed income sales and trading expertise gained across major European finance centres. SkySparc, an independent solutions provider, has implemented an Open Banking solution for long-term client Telia, a leading European telecoms provider, which leverages Nordea’s market-leading Open Banking API to enhance visibility of intraday liquidity and improve treasury automation and efficiency. As part of the solution, SkySparc OmniFi reconciles and consolidates data from the Nordea Instant Reporting API and Telia’s treasury management system to provide the firm’s treasury operations team with real-time account access, intraday account balances and transaction history. This supplies them with accurate, timely liquidity information directly fed into their reporting framework to provide a solid foundation for operational decisions. The solution, which took a matter of days to build, replaces a much more manual process in which Telia’s end-users would have to log in to the banking platform using tokens to access the required data. Nordea’s suite of Premium APIs offers corporate treasuries a range of opportunities for more seamless transaction banking experiences that extends beyond the basics, providing real-time access in the customer’s channel of choice including the supply of intraday transaction and balance data. SkySparc, an independent solutions provider, has extended its partnership to supply consulting and support services to the Dutch State Treasury Agency (DSTA). Under the renewed agreement, SkySparc will continue to supply day-to-day support services, as well as working on specific consultancy projects. DSTA was a pilot client for SkySparc’s Patch Upgrade as-Service model (PUaaS), which was recognized in Central Banking’s FinTech & RegTech Global Awards 2019. More recently, SkySparc supported DSTA’s migration from use of EONIA as a reference rate in its swaps portfolio to the new euro short-term rate (€STR). The DSTA is the debt management office for the Netherlands. Its responsibilities to the Dutch Ministry of Finance include preparing and defining funding policy and representing the state in financial market transactions. The relationship was originally established in 2017 following a public tender conducted via EU and national procurement guidelines for the “continued development and support” for the agency’s Wallstreet Suite. SkySparc, an independent solutions provider, has entered into a multi-year partnership agreement with the Central Bank of Iceland covering use of outsourced support services and OmniFi, SkySparc’s proprietary data integration and workflow automation solution. Although the Central Bank of Iceland has used SkySparc’s services since 2018, the new agreement represents a formalization of the relationship. Under the agreement, SkySparc will provide structured ongoing support services to optimize use of the bank’s treasury management system at least up to 2025. In addition, SkySparc has licensed use of OmniFi across the bank’s treasury operations, having worked with internal teams to identify a number of use cases, including for test automation and data warehouse projects. The agreement includes an annual upgrade of OmniFi. SkySparc has provided support and consultancy services to the global central banking community, one of its four core client sectors, for two decades. The company’s expertise in delivering high-quality services to central banks was recognized in 2019 when it was named Technology Consultant of the Year in Central Banking’s FinTech & RegTech Global Awards.
