Skitude Holding changes name to Canopy Holdings

OSLO, NORWAY: Skitude Holding AS announced the proposal to change name to Canopy Holdings AS to reflect the company’s multi-brand strategy across destinations, attractions and seasons. Reference is made to the 30 November 2021 summon to an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) in Skitude, where the company among others proposes to change name to Canopy. “Based on our heritage and leading position withing digitizing the market for skiers and other mountain enthusiasts, we see significant opportunities in adjacent industries across destinations, attractions and seasons for our products and services. We propose to change name to Canopy to better reflect this season independent multi-brand strategy, while remaining committed to further grow and capitalize on our pole-position within winter applications,” says Bent Grøver, Chief Executive Officer of Canopy. The name change is subject to approval by the EGM.

So it comes as no surprise that the increasing popularity of sport and the acknowledgment of its perks is being capitalized on by many different sports ecosystems, especially Barcelona. SKITUDE, PRIMERA PARTICIPADA DE THE CROWD ANGEL QUE SALE A COTIZAR EN BOLSA. El caso de éxito de Skitude : se abre paso en el mercado global de servicios digitales para esquiadores. La empresa nacida en el Parc Científic de Girona el año 2012 sale a cotizar al Euronext Growth de Oslo el próximo viernes 18 de diciembre. La salida a bolsa tiene lugar en Oslo porque la sede social de Skitude se encuentra en Noruega desde el año 2019, cuando la empresa absorbió la firma suiza Skioo, propiedad de los fondos noruegos Investinor (financiado por el Gobierno); Canica y Norselab. “La sede está en Oslo por motivos financieros pero el principal centro de decisiones está en Girona”, apuntan los fundadores que seguirán al frente de la dirección y conservarán el 20% de las acciones durante el primer año, al igual que el resto de principales accionistas: los tres fondos noruegos y las empresas españolas: The Crowd Angel, Lánzame Capital y Bagi Inversions y viajesparati.es. Skitude consiguió financiar ronda y entró a formar parte de las participadas de The Crowd Angel en 2017 con una ronda de 250.000€ y cuando la compañía estaba valorada de 2,5 millones de euros, actualmente el grupo vale 30 millones de euros, y con la salida a bolsa esperan ampliar capital en 20 millones de euros más con el objetivo principal de unificar el turismo de montaña y el mundo del alpinismo bajo una misma plataforma digital. Y por tanto nacerá con una capitalización de mercado de alrededor de 55 millones de euros, convirtiéndose en una de las salidas a bolsa más importantes del año en Noruega. Marc Bigas, el CEO de la compañía, comenta al respecto que «los stakeholders de Skitude creen que la industria del esquí está viviendo un período de crecimiento y consolidación de la digitalización, lo que aumenta las posibilidades de éxito de grupos grandes y con buen funding detrás»
De Girona al mundo
Skitude nació en Girona en 2012, y el éxito del proyecto y su crecimiento a nivel internacional, hizo posible que, entre 2017 y 2019 se hayan producido 3 rondas de inversión con Venture Capitals nacionales e internacionales, por un valor de más de 3 millones de euros en total. En 2019, Skitude se fusionó con Skioo, compañía que ofrece soluciones digitales que permite a los esquiadores tener acceso instantáneo a sus resorts asociados, con una sola tarjeta con modalidad de postpago, sin tener que adquirir el forfait y hacer cola en las taquillas. Oslo - 18 December 2020 - Euronext today congratulates Skitude, the provider of digital platforms for skiers and other mountain enthusiasts, on its listing on Euronext Growth Oslo (ticker code: SKI). Tech company Skitude Holding AS aims to digitise the market for skiers and other mountain enthusiasts, with a digital platform providing a meeting place between skiers and ski resorts. Skitude was listed through the private placement of 40,350,794 shares at a price of NOK6.70 per share
(€0.633). This includes a total of 29,850,746 new shares, raising gross proceeds of NOK200 million. A total of 5,263,147 shares were over-allotted. Market capitalisation was NOK551 million (€52.5 million4) on the first day of listing. The private placement was well covered and attracted strong interest from Norwegian, Nordic and international high-quality institutional investors. The listing on Euronext Growth is an important step in Skitude's long-term vision to create a one-stop shop that offers all services related to mountain activities. The net proceeds from the primary offering will predominantly be used to accelerate organic growth, finance M&A and for general corporate purposes.
