SAVED This case study dives into why Nissan Motorsports needed an updated website and how it partnered with Razorfish and Storyblok to create one. Having a modern, updated website is essential in today’s world. A Stanford research study discovered that 75% of consumers judge a brand’s credibility on its website design. Today’s consumers expect responsive, visually compelling websites — and they judge brands that don’t meet these expectations. So when Nissan Motorsports (NISMO) —the high-performance division of Nissan Motor Co. — needed to elevate their brand, they needed to start with the website. NISMO’s previous setup was lagging behind in terms of user experience for both NISMO and fans, partly because the brand was represented using multiple websites instead of a unified ecosystem. The ultimate goal was to deliver an immersive experience through a more impactful and modern user interface and charter, to reflect the brand's DNA and modernize the aging technology stack. The Challenge of Taking NISMO’s Brand to the Next Level To create a visually compelling website, NISMO partnered with Razorfish France , with Storyblok as part of the technology stack. Razorfish France’s objectives for the project were threefold: Unify the NISMO ecosystem into a single online platform. Modernize the brand experience. Modernize the design and technology stack. Razorfish France used a frontend based on React.js and Next.js to build NISMO’s advanced website. The solution is hosted on Vercel with Sketchfab for 3D rendering and Storyblok as the headless CMS. This combination has multiple advantages: Reduced hosting costs: By combining Storyblok and Vercel for hosting, Razorfish France were able to minimize hosting costs and maximize the resources used. Reduced development time: Razorfish was able to reduce development time by up to 40%, allowing them to focus on other important aspects of the NISMO project. Visual Editor: Storyblok was the obvious choice because the agency had extensive experience with the solution. Moreover, the CMS’s flexibility as well as the ability to visualize the content in real-time, played a big role in the decision process. Everyone saw the advantages. According to Anthony Labadi, Technical Partner at Razorfish France, “Storyblok played a pivotal role in the success of the NISMO project. Its integration with technologies we typically use at Nissan, such as Next.js and React.js, streamlined our development process, allowing us to avoid unnecessary maintenance costs and efforts.
