Jim Coonan

Jim Coonan is an entrepreneur and operator, who has been in a leadership position in a number of successful northwest technology companies. Mr. Coonan is Chairman of Rodin Audio, a leader in home and automobile electronics. Prior to his role at Rodin, Mr. Coonan was Chairman and largest shareholder of Kentrox, Inc., a leader in the telecommunications equipment business. Prior to that, Mr. Coonan was Chairman and owner of Hotel Software Systems Ltd, a provider of property management software for the hospitality industry. From 1990 through 2000, Mr. Coonan was Chief Executive Officer of OECO, a custom electronics manufacturer of defense, aerospace and high reliability electronic components. The company's commercial contract manufacturing subsidiary was sold for $37 million in 1998. OECO itself was sold in 2000 for another $18 million. Mr. Coonan also served as Director of Business Alliances for the Oregon University System from 1998 until 2003. Mr. Coonan's career began with marketing positions with Pillsbury and General Mills. Mr. Coonan has served in a number of charitable functions, including as a member of the Riverdale School Board, president of the Riverdale School District Foundation, and several roles with the Oregon Entrepreneurs Forum, including currently serving as a member of the Board and as Chairman of the Portland Angel Network. Mr. Coonan has an MBA from Northwestern and a B.A. from Stanford.
