Coventry brings in Showell as chief information and digital officer

Coventry Building Society has named Jayne Showell as its new chief information and digital officer. Previously, Showell worked at Severn Trent as chief information officer, at Lloyds, where she was the head of its telephony systems, and at Capital One in a multitude of technology based roles. Coventry Building Society chief executive Steve Hughes comments: “Our ambition is to be the best at what we do, and we need the best people to achieve that goal. “Chief information and digital officer is a critical role, particularly in financial services, which continues to see rapid developments in the technological and digital areas. It’s driven by the ever-growing demands of consumers. “Jayne’s vision and experience of change of this scale will be a huge asset to the society, our members and in terms of the leadership she will bring to colleagues And Showell says: “Some of the most cutting-edge developments in the technology and digital space right now are within the financial services sector.
