Over the last few months Shipedge’s development team have been hard at work building a top secret project that is destined to change the warehouse management landscape towards the future. This project is Shipedge Torch for Android mobile devices! RALEIGH, N.C. - Feb. 8, 2016 - PRLog -- Shipedge Torch at its core is an android-native application that runs on Android-powered mobile devices and brings all the main functionalities and features of the Shipedge Warehouse Management system into the mobile device. By bringing such power to a mobile device we are bringing warehouse management to the 21st century and are finally moving away towards the old bulky, and extremely price, barcode scanners of the past. No longer will your warehouse staff have to carry around those heavy pieces of machinery just to type in a few letters and numbers and accomplish very limited tasks all the while risking thousands of dollars if one where to drop or break one of these scanners. By moving that barcode scanning functionality within an Android-powered mobile device it removes that huge dollar barrier entry and makes a barcode scanner extremely affordable even to brand new startup distribution warehouses. You are probably thinking what else would this application be capable of and we will get into that but first I want to go over where you will be able to download the Shipedge Torch and to also inform our visitors of the difference between the Shipedge Torch application and the standard Shipedge Application that we have had on the market since last year. All our applications will always be available on the Google Play marketplace, which is accessible from any android-powered mobile device with Internet connection. That is the only place to purchase and download our application. Shipedge Torch’s main flagship capability is it’s ability to turn the device’s very own camera into a super barcode scanner capable of scanning multiple barcodes by just hovering over the barcodes with the camera and not having to actually snap a photo or anything. This allows the device to scan a large amount of barcodes by quickly scanning over them without having to worry about centering the camera, or any of the other issues that come with normal barcode scanning applications. This feature allows the warehouse to perform Pick-And-Pack services to their customers at record speed. Along with picking and packing, the Shipedge Torch application will allow the user to perform inventory control with the stock on hand such as moving certain products around, or performing re-counts of certain BINs. The warehouse can also process replenishments or incoming inventory and store products using only the Shipedge Torch application as well as performing cross-docking all without the need of a desktop or laptop. Yes, that’s right, the warehouse team can take incoming products, scan them into the system and then take that same product and packaged them into outgoing orders all without having to store the inventory. This alone will save the warehouse so much time and greatly increase efficiency of the entire process. You are probably thinking that this increase in speed and functionality will lead to greater errors and returns but no, Shipedge Torch uses very advance algorithms and functions to make sure that all the moves and actions it makes are stored directly into the system and makes sure that any available inventory or moves are allowed based on available quantities and what is available. On top of this Shipedge’s application also has built in quality control capabilities where the warehouse team can use the mobile device to verify shipped orders and perform quality control on the outgoing process for inventory. The warehouse can also perform Cycle count, which helps you verify the inventory count in BIN locations on a daily or weekly basis to avoid problems caused by manufacturers or receiving miscounts. Another great feature that comes with both Shipedge applications is the Project Time Track. You can create projects and let everyone collaborate with one another. Each user tracks their own time from anywhere on one or multiple projects at a time.
