Michael J. Fox joins Coldplay to rock out on Back to the Future classics at MetLife Stadium — watch

Jul 18, 2016

Reddit Coldplay played two shows at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium over the weekend, and although the sets were remarkably similar (according to Setlist.fm ), each night did have a few treats thrown in. Sunday clearly got the best of them all, however, as Chris Martin and company welcomed out Michael J. Fox for a surprise performance of two classics from the Back to the Future soundtrack. The double-shot of awesome began with Martin’s 10-year-old son, Moses, asking his dad via video to “play a song from both of our favorite movie, Back to the Future.” The band obliged by going into “Earth Angel” by The Penguins, only to have Martin say halfway through the song, “Ladies and gentlemen, from the best movie of all time, please welcome Mr. Michael J. Fox!” Out came Marty McFly himself, who strapped on a guitar and joined in with the band. It didn’t end there, either, as Fox stuck around to jam out to the most iconic track from the BttF franchise, Chuck Berry ’s “Johnny B. Goode”. “That’s our dream come true,” Martin gushed after hugging a the smiling actor before he walked off stage. “Thank you, Michael.” Check out fan-shot video of both performances above, plus individual videos (shot of the stage screens) for the separate songs below (via NJ Arts ). “Earth Angel”:
