Global automotive spare parts provider LKQ Corporation is strengthening its presence in the Benelux countries with the acquisition, via its subsidiary Sator, of 21 Belgian and 2 Dutch companies. They include De Jonghe Autoparts, the Henrard Group, Autoparts Prosec and Sergoyne - four of the 11 companies making up the Benelux Carparts Corporation. "These acquisitions provide us with a high-quality network, furthering our ambition to be present throughout all major cities in Belgium with subsidiaries that are able to serve automotive professionals with a maximum assortment of parts in stock", a Sator spokesperson said. The CEOs of the four main companies acquired by LKQ have stated that the move is part of a scaling trend currently sweeping Europe, and that it will have positive effects on the business. LKQ is the leader in the spare parts market in North America, and has been acquiring companies in Europe to achieve a similar status here. Last year, the company posted a turnover of €8.6 billion.
