Online Shopping to Grow by 78 Percent in 2016: Report https://t.co/oEjuzQV04n pic.twitter.com/DqItWASMaS — Gadgets 360 (@Gadgets360) March 21, 2016 “Unfazed by the slowdown, average online purchases are expected to increase by 78 percent in 2016 from 66 percent in 2015 due to attractive deals and aggressive marketing of an ever-expanding range of merchandise from clothes to jewellery, from electronics to books,” said the Assocham-PwC report. With the growth of e-commerce sector, the possibilities and options for simplicity are what can bring multiple variations regardless of the prices floating in the online market. Searchub Inc., considering the prospect of the e-commerce and online shopping market developed a platform called Searchub that uses machine learning algorithms to offer users a truly personalized shopping experience. Connecting retailers with the customers through recommendation and big data, the platform performs search and displays result according to the user’s taste, style and their social profile. Also, the machine learning algorithms employed for shopping experience is what is believed to make online shopping more efficient and complete. “Our engine uses high-level aggregate data about our users to match them with the products they really want,” said Mohamed Bennani , co-founder of Searchub. If you like Kim Kardashian or red pumps, that data suggests you’re also likely to like a certain type of products and brands. If not, then our machine learning powered engine will remember this for your next search. The extensive Searchub shopping index contains over 300 million products across 10,000 stores, including Amazon, Revolve clothing, Macy’s as well as a range of up and coming independent boutiques and designers. The strong growth in technology devices including smartphone and tablets is considered to rise even more and is believed to account about 11 percent of online sales. Similarly, the share is also believed to jump to 25 percent by 2017. Online Shopping on aggressive growth path, thanks to #deals , #discounts and aggressive marketing https://t.co/5eKThoUrfN — DealDayal (@DealDayal) March 20, 2016 The overall e-commerce industry is currently valued at $25 billion and is compounding an annual growth rate of 35 to 40 percent every year. The report also predicts the industry to cross the $100 billion mark in the next five years. The e-commerce industry is what has caused SMEs to move online and go mobile. A report by Statista also says that 40 percent of worldwide internet users have shopped online at least once via desktop, mobile, tablet or any other devices. This predicts the total number of online consumers over 1 billion which is rising every year. “Small businesses are becoming technology savvy and pretty much all of them are getting e-commerce websites,” said Ali Benmoussa, co-founder and CEO of Searchub. “Our research shows that most small businesses prefer to list their inventory on Searchub rather than in Amazon or Ebay because they get to keep their customers and increase recurring revenue.” Shopping giants Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. is also working to enhance the shopping experience for its 400 million users and wants to use virtual reality as their technology. The Chinese e-commerce emporium is currently working on the virtual reality technology and researching on how it can be worked together with online games, and video streaming.
