Mondosoft to Acquire Searchbutton Mondosoft (http://www.mondosoft.com) , a site-search provider, has announced that it has signed a letter of intent to acquire Searchbutton, Inc., a U.S. site-search provider and Mondosoft competitor (http://www.searchbutton.com) . Under the agreement, Denmark-based Mondosoft, whose U.S. headquarters is in New York, will acquire Mountain View, California-based Searchbutton in an effort to expand its U.S. market presence, better target and service corporate customers, and optimize its product offering. "Acquiring Searchbutton fits perfectly into Mondosoft's U.S. growth strategy, giving us an even stronger presence in a growing and lucrative marketplace," said Mondosoft CEO Laust Sondergaard. "Searchbutton is a recognized leader in the site-search arena and is a natural choice as we share a continued commitment to customer satisfaction, similar technology, and an emphasis on serving the corporate marketplace." Sue Feldman, an analyst at IDC who follows the market for search software, said the transaction represents a great opportunity for Mondosoft. "Searchbutton is a strong player in the hosted search market, particularly in the U.S.," she said. "While Mondosoft has made significant progress in the U.S. market in the last 2 years, this acquisition gives them a ready-made set of customers that increases their market penetration. IDC believes that hosted search, which enables corporations to outsource a complex process, is a promising strategy for enterprises. Mondosoft and other hosted search companies can offer enterprises a depth of understanding that will help their users and customers find information more easily. With strong footholds now in both Europe and the U.S., Mondosoft is well-positioned to gain a significant share of this growing market." Sondergaard said Mondosoft and Searchbutton share a similar mission: to allow a corporate Web site's visitors to easily find what they're looking for. As a result, customers will continue to benefit from an easy-to-use product that provides many advantages for both users and administrators, according to the company. For Web site visitors, MondoSearch presents search results in logical categories, identifying information by file type, language, and other attributes. For administrators, MondoSearch includes a Web-based tool that enables them to conduct routine maintenance quickly and easily. Source: Mondosoft
