GOOGLE ’C’ : ScanCafe Integrates with Google Drive and Dropbox

Oct 16, 2014

(PRWEB) October 16, 2014 Digital-scanning industry leader ScanCafe announced today it now offers the option of integrating and uploading scanned images directly to Google Drive and Dropbox, two of the most popular cloud storage providers. Effective immediately, ScanCafe customers will have a one-click selection option for cloud integration and upload during the checkout process on all scanning orders. Customers who do not have a Google Drive or Dropbox accounts can sign up for a free account as part of the new feature. Google and Dropbox provides ScanCafe's customers with failsafe backup protection for both their scanned and digital photos, removing the risk of images being lost due to failure, damage, or loss of a personal storage device. In the past, scanning service customers have had to download scanned images to their computers and then manually upload the images to a cloud service themselves. However, ScanCafe's direct upload option now allows consumers to have this done for them instantly and automatically, for as many photos as they wish. Dropbox and Google Drive are among the most trusted and successful personal online cloud services, each having around 200 million users. Both feature automated data synchronization so that uploaded content is consistent across all devices a customer uses, from hard drives to phones and tables, and both are fully compatible with either Windows, Mac, iOS and Android operating systems. In addition, both cloud providers offer free accounts that come with generous complimentary storage, as well as the option to upgrade to premium accounts with virtually unlimited storage. Dropbox gives its free customers 5 GB of memory, which equates to as many as 2,000 photos, while Google Drive features 15 GB of free storage or about 6,000 photos. ScanCafe's President and CTO, Laurent Martin , emphasized that these sizeable free cloud storage capacities, coupled with the downward trend in pricing for premium accounts, mean that ScanCafe customers can get the gold standard in preservation safety and image accessibility for free or at most a fraction of what it cost to take and develop those photos back in the days. "With this Dropbox and Google Drive integration," Laurent said, "our users can now enjoy the peace of mind that comes from knowing that their most precious photographic memories are backed up forever and accessible from any device anywhere. " This direct cloud upload feature is seen by ScanCafe as simply the latest example of its core commitments to technical innovation and customer service. The California -based company, founded in 2006, has scanned over 100 million images and received numerous awards for the range and superiority of its digital transfer and restoration work on photos, slides, negatives, movie film, and video tapes, with Money Magazine naming them the best scanning service. ScanCafe currently serves customers throughout the United States
