Ltd has acquired home services start-up Zimmber (Rejuvenate Solutions Pvt. Ltd) for about $10 million in an all-stock deal. Zimmber is Quikr’s fourth acquisition for its services category which has seen the company buy Salosa, Zapluk and StayGlad in the beauty services space last year. “Zimmber is a distinct platform with a large user base and multiple service verticals. This deal will help Quikr strengthen its home services vertical and in return give us good synergies internally. Zimmber will continue to function as a separate entity without any changes in its business model,” Amit Kumar, co-founder and COO of Zimmber. Founded by Anubhab Goel, Amit Kumar and Gaurav Shrivastava, Zimmber provides on demand home services like plumbing, carpentry, pest control, deep cleaning, sofa and carpet cleaning amongst many others. Zimmber pre-checks all its service partners before enrolling them on the platform and further trains them for the gaps in professionalism and service quality. It is currently operational in Bangalore, MMR, NCR and Pune. Around 1500 service providers have been on-boarded on the platform till date and over 1 lac customers have been served. “The acquisition allows us to further scale up our deep-stack service capabilities and provide a superior service experience to Quikr users for their high-frequency daily needs, such as plumbing, cleaning, etc. This category perfectly complements our existing marketplace solutions for one-off service needs, such as interior design, packers and movers, etc.” said PD Sundar, head of QuikrServices. Zimmber will continue serving all its on-demand service customers and will continue to focus on service quality. As part of the deal, Zimmber’s COO Amit Kumar and Chief Product Officer Siddhartha Srivastava will join Quikr’s team. CEO Anubhab Goel will be joining the financial services corporate industry in the role of a mentor to incubate startups for the company.
