NORTH KINGSTOWN – RT Group Inc. has been acquired by Westfield, Mass.-based Tighe & Bond, the latter announced on Monday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. RT Group specializes in engineering, design and environmental consulting. Tighe & Bond is a consulting firm specializing in water and wastewater engineering, site planning and landscape design, full-service engineering for real estate development, infrastructure improvements and environmental services in the Northeast. “As our industry continues to address issues of coastal resiliency, expanding our waterfront and marine capabilities has been a clear objective,” Tighe & Bond President and CEO Bob Belitz said. “RT Group is a firm that shares the same vision, culture and technical excellence our firm values. We welcome this talented team to our firm.” - Advertisement - RT Group will continue to operate in North Kingstown as part of Tighe & Bond’s Land Use and Transportation Business Line and will take on the Tighe & Bond brand, the company said. Tighe & Bond has an office in Providence. At the time of acquisition RT Group had six employees. Following the acquisition, Tighe & Bond had a total of 420 employees. “From prior collaboration, we recognized our two highly accomplished firms would be stronger together,” said Jim Russell, RT Group’s founder. “We look forward to offering our services to clients throughout the Northeast and providing new opportunities for our employees.” Want to share this story?
